Now the rapper has reacted to people calling out his songs by giving Gulzar’s example. The rapper-singer stated, “Honey Singh called Gulzar’s Beedi misogynistic” Honey Singh called Gulzar’s Beedi misogynistic Talking about his songs being questioned over their lyrics, Singh, in an interview with TOI, stated, “I don't give a s***, but I think I should answer this. Gulzar sahab likh rahe hain (Gulzar sir wrote), 'Beedi jalaile jigar se piya, jigar mein badi aag hai' (Beedi song lyrics), jigar kahan hota hai aurat ka (where is the chest)? This is misogynistic for me. 'Zuban pe laga namak ishq ka' (Beedi song lyrics), why is he talking about the tongue of a woman? Sirf main hi kyun galat hoon? Main pehle bolta nahi tha, aaj bol raha hoon yeh baatein. Main pehle jawab nahi deta tha toh log kehte thay 'easy target hai, issi ke baare mein bolo' (Why am I wrong only? I didn’t say before, I’m saying now. I never replied, so people said he is an easy target, let’s talk about him).” Honey Singh thinks he isn’t objectifying women While further sharing his views on his songs, the ‘Lungi Dance’ singer stated, “I am not objectifying women, aise thodi na hota hai (it’s not that). Pehle kaise kaise gaane hote thay, woh ganon ki tarah liye jaate thay. Main 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai' jaise controversial ganon ki toh baat hi nahi karta... par Honey Singh ko hi kyun gaali di jaati hai aur unko aap legend bolte ho? Modernise bhi ho rahe hain par backward bhi soch rahe hain (earlier what songs were there, but they were considered as songs. I don’t talk about controversial songs such as 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai'… but why is Honey Singh abused and they are called legends? We are getting modernized but thinking backward).” Honey Singh on the work front Honey Singh recently released his new album, "Glory," on August 26. The album features collaborations with artists from Latin America, Western Europe, and Indian folk singers.

Ranbir finishes shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana? Here’s what we know

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is making waves for his upcoming mythological drama Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film, an adaptation of the Indian epic, is set to be a two-part spectacle that promises to be a visual treat. Report now claims that Ranbir Kapoor has wrapped up filming and that the movie is currently in post-production, with VFX work underway.  wrap it up and let the colors unfold #Ramayana pic.twitter.com/T5FevvqoiL — 𝙑 ♪ (@RKs_Tilllast) September 7, 2024 Did Ranbir Kapoor Wrap Filming for Ramayana: Part 1? An X page shared a snapshot of Ranbir posing in a purple hoodie and cap, while another photo in the post shows crew members celebrating the completion of Part 1 on set. The picture is now going viral on social media. About Ramayana’s budget It was recently reported that the film is a costly project, with its budget at a mammoth figure of USD 100 million, which is around Rs 835 crore, just for the first part, given that the magnum opus is billed to be a trilogy.  According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, “Ramayana is not just a film but an emotion, and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a global spectacle. Producer Namit Malhotra plans to expand this further as the franchise grows. The idea is to take the audience on a visual treat with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram. The budget of Ramayana is close to Rs 835 crores. The film requires 600 days of post-production work, which in itself speaks volumes about the investment required to create some of the most original visuals on the spectacle. The idea is to take Indian cinema to a global level.” Pic leak from the sets of Ramayana Earlier, pictures of Ranbir as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita leaked as they shot a sequence in Film City, Goregaon. The internet had a field day dissecting the actors’ looks in the mythological drama. To avoid a similar situation in the future, Tiwari has reportedly sprung into action and made changes to the schedule. Considering Ramayana is one of the most anticipated films, a premature reveal affects its novelty. Understanding this, the filmmaker is said to have rejigged the schedule to prioritize indoor shoots. A source from the set informed mid-day.com, “Going forward, Nitesh sir has decided to focus on indoor shoots, thus minimizing chances of another leak. The outdoor shoots will happen at night for the next few weeks. Also, additional private security has been hired to safeguard the set from paparazzi or fans lurking around for pictures.”  Ramayana also stars Yash as Ravan, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Arun Govil as King Dasharatha.

Thumbs up, but on condition! CBFC gives UA certificate to Kangana's Emergency

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut's Emergency has finally won the battle against the CBFC. The movie has received a UA certificate from the CBFC, though the release date hasn't been announced yet. As per reports, the makers have been asked to make more edits to the film before it finally hits theatres. According to reports on IndiaToday.in, the CBFC has asked the filmmakers to provide disclaimers on historical events depicted in the film. An update on the film's release will be out soon. A UA certificate means that the movie can be viewed by the audience but only with appropriate guidance. Emergency was submitted for review to the censor board on July 8. Emergency Officially Postponed Taking to her social media, Kangana Ranaut wrote, "With a heavy heart, I announce that my directorial Emergency, which was supposed to release today, has been postponed and we are still waiting for the certification from the censor board. Thanks for your understanding and patience, a new release date will be announced soon." Produced by Zee Studios, Manikarnika Films, and Renu Pitti, the film’s music is orchestrated by Sanchit Balhara and G.V. Prakash Kumar, with screenplay and dialogues by Ritesh Shah. Its release date will be announced soon. About Kangana Ranaut's Emergency Ever since Emergency's trailer dropped online on August 14, there have been growing objections and calls for a ban on its release. The political drama chronicles the life of the late Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, with an emphasis on how she imposed the Emergency in 1975 and her assassination by her bodyguards. While it was reported that the movie was cleared by the CBFC on August 29, the body apparently had a change of heart after receiving a legal notice from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on August 30, seeking to prevent its release. The group claimed that the film may “incite communal tension,” alleging that its trailer depicted “erroneous historical facts that not only misrepresent the Sikh community but also promote hatred and social discord.” Several Sikh groups also objected to the film.
